Spring Break Poker Classic – Event #22 – $100+$25 NLHE Benefitting Women’s Center for Non-Violence

Tournament Director Johnny Grooms wanted to end the Spring Break Poker Classic giving back to the community, in keeping with the frequent benefit tournaments held in the Beau Rivage poker room throughout the year. Event #22 benefited the Gulf Coast Women’s Center for Non-Violence, an organization who’s mission is to provide counseling and shelter to those in need. Beau Rivage has a long-standing relationship with the Women’s Center; last year employees prepared Easter baskets for children staying at the shelter and participated in a variety of fund-raisers for the Center. Through the MGM MIRAGE Voice Foundation Beau Rivage employees have donated dollars for a computer lab at the Center as well as many other worthy projects.

For this event, 20 players anted up for the cause and added a little do-gooding to their usual poker game. Tan Tu of Sugar Land, TX placed first; followed by Preston Derden of Houston, TX and then Tito Avery of Gulfport, MS.

We thank all of the players in Event #22 for taking part in these fundraising efforts, as well as our employees for their continued support of a very worthwhile cause.
