Event #32 – $230 No Limit Hold’em (one day event)



The last event before the main event was the $230 No Limit Hold’em event. 352 players bought in for $230, which made for a total prize pool of $68,288. The difference between this tournament and all other that preceded it was that this tournament was a one-day event. It began at 2 p.m. and was finished 13 hours later. The final table was made 12 hours into the event and action really picked up.

Our first victim of the final table was Paul Fleck of Stockbridge, Georgia. For his efforts, Paul earned $956.

Robert Spann moved all-in and was called by Trey Brabham in the big blind. Spann held A-9 versus the 7-8 of Brabham. The flop was 9-7-8 and Spann would need an A. The turn was a 10 and the river was a 2. Robert Spann of Midlothian, Texas, finished 9th earning $1,229.

On a flop of 8-5-9, Chris Monroe of Sterrett, Alabama, lead out for 100k. Manny Minaya moved all-in and Monroe tanked. After much thought, Monroe called with 9-5 for two pair, but Minaya flopped the straight with 6-7. The turn was a 3 and the river was an 8. Chris Monroe finished 8th earning $1,912.

Rhonda Palassie of Marrero, Louisiana, finished 7th earning $2,595.

Trey Brabham got tangled up in a previous hand and was on the short stack as a result. Several hands later, Trey was all-in with Q-7 and got the call from Chuck Scandrett with K-Q. The board ran out 8-3-K-4-J and Trey Brabham of Austin, Texas, finished 6th earning $3,278.

On a flop of 9-2-7, Dave Burroughs checked over to Mike Tockgo, who moved all-in. Dave insta-called with pocket A’s versus the K-5 of Mike. The turn was a 3 and the river was a 5. Mike Tokgo finished 5th earning $3,961.

Our remaining 4 players decided to chop up the prize pool. Our 4^th place finisher was Carl McGowan of Pearson, Georgia. For his efforts, Carl earned $4,644.

Our 3^rd place finisher was Chuck Scandrett of Mequon, Wisconsin. Scandrett took away $6,009.

Our second place finisher was Dave Burroughs of Atlanta, Georgia. His take home pay was $10,243.

And our champion of this event was Manny Minaya of Tampa, Florida. Manny took home the trophy and $18,439.
