#13 – $340 No Limit Hold’em Turbo

Champion Barry Washington from Beaverton, Oregon

Event thirteen was a one day turbo event, which meant the action would be fast and furious from the get go. The field dwindled down to a final table after nine hours of play and that is where our action picked up.

Christopher Galvez moved all-in and was called down by Ankush Mandavia. Galvez held A-Q versus the pocket K’s of Mandavia. The flop was 6-8-3, the turn was a Q, and the river was a K. Christopher Galvez finished 9th earning $1,170.

Tom Darce tried to steal the blinds from the button by moving all-in. Unfortunately, he was called down by Ankush Mandavia from the small blind. Darce held Q-10, while Mandavia held pocket 10′s. The board read A-7-2-K-6 and Mandavia scooped the pot. Tom Darce finished 8th earning $1,755.

Ronnie Loflin moved all-in in late position. Chet Chesnutt took a few looks at his cards before raising the pot quite a bit. Everyone else got out of the way and the two exposed their hole cards. Loflin sheepishly turned over J-3 versus the pocket 10′s of Chesnutt. The flop was 3-A-5 giving a few more outs to Loflin. The turn was another A and the river was a 7. Ronnie Loflin finished 7th earning $2,340.

Judy Rhodes moved all-in from the big blind after Chet Chesnutt raised her from from the small blind. Chet called with pocket Q’s and Judy was disgusted when she tabled 4-8. The board failed to improve either hands and Judy Rhodes finished 6th $2,925.

Mohammed Moeini pushed all-in with Q-3 under the gun and was called by Michael Nasserazad’s 9-8. The flop was 10-9-10, the turn was an A and the river was a 4. Mohammed Moeini finished 5th for $3,509.

Ankush Mandavia pushed his stack in the middle on the button and Barry Washington quickly folded his small blind. Chet Chesnutt looked at his hand for a second, then called with A-J versus the pocket 10′s of Mandavia. The flop was J-3-K. The turn was a 6 and the river was a 9. Ankush Mandavia finished 5th for $4,679.

Barry Washington made a raise from 20k to 60k on the button and action got over to Michael Nasserazad. Michael moved all-in for an extra 170k and Barry tanked for a minute. Barry finally called with pocket 7′s versus the A-8 of Michael. The board read J-K-5-Q-Q and Michael Nasserazad finished 3rd earning $5,849.

The two remaining players decided on a chop! Our 2nd place finisher was Chet Chesnutt.
