The Gulf Coast Poker Championship Main Event Preview



The wait is almost over! In just one more day, the main event of The Gulf Coast Poker Championship will kick off with some of the best players in the Southeast battling it out for that top prize. We also get to see if one of the biggest names in poker can repeat as champion of this event.

Last year, the field was an impressive 143 players. Action was great from start to finish, but the final table was some of the best poker ever witnessed. Local player Tyler Smith, took his, “take no prisoner” attitude into the final day making short order of most of his foes. that was until he was heads up with Chad Brown. The two would mentally wrestle back and forth all night, until finally, Chad Brown got the upper hand. Chad would knock Tyler out and take the championship down.

This year, Chad Brown has returned to defend his title. We will see the return of Tyler Smith hot off his victories in the World Poker Open main event and the Spring Break Poker Classic main event. other notable players include “Captain” Tom Franklin, Ben Mintz, Kenny Milam and a host of others.Action begins Saturday at 2 p.m. and will play down over the course of four days. It’s time to get into the action!
