WPT Southern Poker Championship Brings out the best!

The 2011 Southern Poker Championship is off and running! The event began with Mike Sexton announcing the famous phrase, “Shuffle up and deal!” Once the action began, we had a grand total of 214 players generating a prize pool of $1,986,100 and a top prize of $575,969.

This year, some of the biggest names in poker made their appearance. A field that included: returning champion Hoyt Corkins, Scotty Nguyen, Gavin Smith, Matt Affleck, Chad Brown, Tyler Smith, and a whole host of other big names.

the field has whittled down to 147 players, who have safely moved on to day two. Action kicks off at high noon tomorrow!
