$100 Buy-In No-Limit Hold’em Event Will Benefit American Cancer Society

 

BILOXI, Miss. – July 29, 2011 – The Gulf Coast Poker Championship returns to Beau Rivage August 25-Sept. 5. One of this year’s highlights will be a silent auction reception and charity poker tournament benefiting the American Cancer Society, Sept. 2.

Poker Stars’ Vanessa Rousso will serve as the official celebrity hostess of the Gulf Coast Poker Championship American Cancer Society reception and charity poker tournament. An impassioned advocate for cancer research, Rousso’s non-profit No Limit No Profit Initiative (NLNPI) is partnering with Beau Rivage and the local chapter of the American Cancer Society to raise money and create awareness for cancer research. Rousso’s NLNPI supports innovative, ground-breaking, results-driven research and programs conducted by non-profits that will lead to the end of cancer.

On Thursday, September 2 from 7 p.m.-9 p.m., poker players, Vanessa Rousso fans and anyone interested in supporting the work of the American Cancer Society are encouraged to come to Beau Rivage’s Camellia Ballrom for a festive reception that will include hors d’oeuveres, refreshments, photo opportunities with Vanessa Rousso and a silent auction featuring dozens of items including private poker lessons from Rousso, seats to her popular Big Slick poker boot camps, sports memorabilia, Atlanta Braves tickets, autographed Godaddy and Pokerstars items, wine baskets, Viking cooking baskets, Costa del Mar sunglasses and many other interesting and unique items. The American Cancer Society charity poker tournament will take place on Sept. 1 at 4 p.m. The buy-in is $100. Each player can purchase one re-buy for $50 which will go to the American Cancer Society.
