Steven Rash leads the Field after Day 1 of the 2014 GCPC Main Event

Steven Rash from St. George, FL is the chip leader heading into day 2 of the 2014 Gulf Coast Poker Championship  Main Event.  With 50 players remining , Steven has 276,400 in chips.  The average stack is just over 73,000 with blind of 800-1600 when play begins.  The main event is a $1,600 No Limit Hold’em event that had 3 separate starting days, with the field combining on Sunday August 31 at 2PM.  Day 1A had 82 players, 1B had 124, and 1C had 38, for a combined total of 244 players.  The total prize pool for the event is $355,020.

In 2013, the event had 324 players and a prize pool of #338,130.  Robert Harwell of Long Beach, MS was the champion, winning just over $122,000.
